MOUSEY MOUSEY IN THE HOUSE

By, Richard Tornello © 2010

Late one night a squeeking noise.
I look around, it’s not her toys.
Out of the corner a streak of gray.
Toward the door it runs away.
On the outside looking in
A little mouse there with a grin?
Munching something I know not what,
My keys, the door, oh shit, it’s locked.
It’s late at night I can’t awake
the misses, kids for my mistake.
Here I sit and for light wait,
pondering this rodents fate.
A grave mistake,  just now made
mouses swan song on ‘morrows fade.
